Bio-methanation is a process by which organic material is microbiologically converted under anaerobic conditions to biogas. It is the most energy efficient and eco-friendly method for treatment of wet organic waste. With bio-methanation we can convert wet organic waste in to Bio-CNG and good quality organic manure.
This kind of projects is generally preferred for wet organic waste in bulk quantity i.e. starting from 25-30 TPD and implemented by Municipal bodies and corporates under CSR initiative. In case there is less quantity of waste available the generated gas can be converted in to electricity.
ESSL has set up a 25 TPD Project partnering with KDMC in Kalyan, where around 700 kg Bio-CNG is bottled in cylinders and 2.5 tons of value added organic fertilizer is manufactured everyday.
Composting is an aerobic method (meaning that it requires the presence of air) of decomposing organic solid wastes. It can therefore be used to recycle organic material. The process involves decomposition of organic material into a humus-like material, known as compost, which is a good fertilizer for plants.
Way before the ‘Solid Waste Management Rules’ came in to enforcement, i.e. since 2014, ESSL is composting 12 tons of wet organic waste on daily basis for the employee residential colonies of a corporate company in Vikhroli, Mumbai.
